Herve Leger by Max Azria

For this collection Max and Lubov Azria took on the challenge to take on another look to the ultimate Herve Leger bandage dress. They did successfully with a more modern take on the body hugging piece. Gradients and metallics walked down the runway in various colours and styles as well as a couple of structured airbrushed jackets. The collection ended with an array of body con swimsuits which would probably only look good on the likes of Elle Macpherson and Liz Hurley.

Straight off the runway: US Open Official Players Party hoste by Heineken

Tennis superstar, Maria Sharapova looked stunning in tangerine as she was photographed on her way to the event at the Empire Hotel last Friday in New York City. Sharapova opted for a symmetrical look this time in a ruffled slip dress from Stella McCartney's 2008 Pre-Fall Collection and accessorised with a boxed clutch and oxford pumps.

Ugly Betty actress, Becki Newton follows the renewed boho trend in a Gucci mini dress from the Fall 2008 collection. She finished off her look with a pair of gorgeous Gucci Rosin ankle-wrap sandals.

Lipstick Jungle star, Lindsay Price opted for a more formal look in a lace overlay frock from Tracy Reese's Fall 2008 Collection. The dress is lovely, but perhaps to formal for such a laid back event?

Straight off the runway: Maria Sharapova

Oh my my. Maria Sharapova looks like she left her other sleeve at home. Sharapova took some time off from her tennis duties to attend the unveiling of the new Canon PowerShot Diamond Collection at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport in New York City last Wednesday. Yes, the one shoulder trend is in, but this is one shoulder is a bit too extreme, it looks very 80's don't you think? If the sleeve wasn't missing, this Lanvin dress would have looked stunning.
