Straight off the runway: Valentino : The Last Emperor' Screening

Famed fashion designer Valentino made his first red carpet debut to the screening of documentary Valentino, The Last Emperor, which follows his 45 year fashion career. It was no surprise that many devotees of the high fashion label attended the event which was held overlooking the Grand Canal.

Photobucket

Diane Kruger looks amazing as usua,l channeling a Grecian look in a one shouldered Valentino Spring 2007 Couture gown.

Photobucket

Eva Herzigova works the lace trend in a white Valentino Spring 2007 Couture strapless gown. I must say this gown looks so much more better on Herzigova than it does on the model.

Photobucket

Miss Claire Danes went for an unusual choice in this Valentino Spring 2008 Couture cocktail dress and she wears it with so well. She really does stand out from the rest.

Photobucket

Charlize Theron did not wear Valentino but opted for a rich purple Gucci dress from the Fall 2008 collection.

Photobucket

Liz Hurley reminded me of a modern day Cleopatra in this stunning champagne coloured gown. A very daring choice with the plunging neckline but if anyone can get away with it than it would be no other than Hurley.

Natalia Vodianova was a bit more modest in her white gown, that had a beautiful trail.

Lipstick Jungle star, Lindsay Price opted for a more formal look in a
lace overlay frock from Tracy Reese's Fall 2008 Collection. The dress is lovely, but perhaps to formal for such a laid back event?

Straight off the runway: Charlize Theron

Charlize Theron attended the 'Hancock' Japan Premiere at JCB Hall last Thursday in Tokyo, Japan. Yes, everyone's already seen the movie, however, Japan are a bit behind with the films as Hancock doesn't open till August 30. As usual, Theron looked amazing in a figure hugging black lace dress from Prada's Fall 2008 collection. Her dress is a modification of the runway version, and also a massive improvement. Theron's unusual shoes are also from the Fall collection.

Straight off the runway: Demi Moore and Rumer Willis

The mother and daughter duo both attended the Sony Pictures' Premiere of 'House Bunny' at the Mann Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California a couple of weeks ago. Moore was of course there for moral support for her eldest daughter Rumer who plays Joanne in the film. Demi contiuned her Lanvin obsession in a dress from the labels Fall 2008 collection and topped her look off with black pumps and clutch. Rumer looked amazing in a strapless Reem Acra gown. Willis definately looks much better than the runway model, it fits her like a glove.

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. House Bunny actresses, Rummer Willis and Anna Faris are indeed wearing the same dress. Thankfully, Faris decided to wear a blazer and boots with her YaYa Aflalo mini dress where Willis opted for points and a simple silver necklace.

Hilary Duff was spotted giving a wave to the papparazzi while she was photogrpahed on her way out from Katsuya Restaurant some weeks ago. The actress looked looked chic in a figure hugging number, donning a black tank which was topped off by her gorgous LaROK mini skirt and open toe booties. Duff accessorised with feathered earrings and a Chanel handbag.

Straight off the runway: Maria Sharapova

Oh my my. Maria Sharapova looks like she left her other sleeve at home. Sharapova took some time off from her tennis duties to attend the unveiling of the new Canon PowerShot Diamond Collection at Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport in New York City last Wednesday. Yes, the one shoulder trend is in, but this is one shoulder is a bit too extreme, it looks very 80's don't you think? If the sleeve wasn't missing, this Lanvin dress would have looked stunning.

Straight off the runway: "The Hills" Season 4 Premiere Party Live From Malibu

This could possibly be the last season for the reality girls of The Hills. With that in mind, the premiere party went out with a bang and was aired live from Malibu. All of the ladies looked fabulous wearing dresses from Roberto Cavalli to Herve Leger. Suprisingly, Lauren Conrad looks very un Lauren Conrad in a silk Maxi dress from Roberto Cavalli's Spring 2008 collection, i like this chic boho look on her. Audrina Patridge glowed in a turqouise Julia Clancey halter and opted for messy beach hair. Heidi Montag, whose style i don't usually like, actually looked gorgeous in a figure hugging Herve Leger bandage mini dress.

Cast memebers, Whitney Port and Stephanie Pratt also attended. Port always hits it right in the wardrobe department at events and this is no exception. Pratt also opted for a maxi dress going a bit more glam in silver and white.

ID that shoe: Rachel Bilson

Jumper actress Rachel Bilson was spotted some weeks ago on her way to grab lunch at the Californian/European style café and bakery Alcove Cafe in the trendy Los Feliz neighborhood. Bilson kept is simple in a navy summer dress which was worn with her much loved Zac Posen 'Pumpkin' Drawstring Bag and Raybans. I am in love with her interesting Sigerson Morrison woven sandals! Which is a different take on the usual sandals we see on celebrities these days.

Jessica Simpson was spotted on her way to Mr. Chow's for dinner. Simpson sported her much loved William Rast short shorts and a lovely red Tucker floral blouse. ID that dress: 2008 Teen Choice Awards

I'm a bit behind as the Teen Choice Awards were held last week, however, it gave me some time to hunt down some of the dresses that haven't had an id as yet:

Photobucket

Rachel Bilson sans Hayden, looking uber sweet in an asymmetrical Brian Reyes dress from the designer's pre-fall collection. Bilson topped of her gorgeous dress with a pair of Khaki Lanvin Gladiator heels.

Photobucket

I was a bit disappointed to see Meester wearing Lanvin as most celebrities are opting for dresses from the label these days. However the overall effect was very un-lanvin. Meester's bright green dress is from Lanvin's Spring 2008 Collection, she left her hair down in loose curls which was a wise choice as she looks fantastic . The Gossip Girl actress finished her look off with a pair of Jimmy Choo Isis platform slingbacks which you can purchase here.

Photobucket

Blake Lively joined her co-star at the event going short and sexy in a royal purple Tadashi mini dress from the designers Fall 2008 collection. A very simple yet sexy look which works well for Lively as she is beautiful. Blake accessorised with a thick black belt and a pair of classic Christian Louboutin pumps.

Photobucket

Scarlett Johansson's peachy frock is designed by Matthew Williamson. The Vicky Christina Barcelona actress accessorised with a gold necklace and peep toes. This dress would have been enough without the necklace, which i personally did not like. Johansson's dress is available for purchase in gray here.

Photobucket

The host of the even, Miley Cyrus, thankfully dressed her age. Cyrus opted for a sequined mini dress from Moschino Cheap&Chic. The look was laid back with Cyrus accessorising lightly with jewelery and flat boots.

Photobucket

Kristen Bell goes ultra bright in a Jenni Kayne ensemble from the designers Resort collection. I love the neon pink skirt with the nude tank it makes a beautiful contrast. Bell accessorised with nude peep toes, black clutch and beaded necklace.

Photobucket

Sophia Bush also opted for a design from Jenni Kayne's Resort collection, however, the look is completely different to that of Kristen's. I'm actually still undecided on whether or not i like it. Yay or nay anyone?

Photobucket

Uprising star, Jessica Stroup of 90210 was one of my favourites of the event. The simplicity of her D & G bubbled mini dress looked amazing with the gold heels. The bright orange is the wow factor of this outfit. You can purchase Stroup's D&G mini dress here.

Photobucket

Unfortunately, Fergie was a huge disappointment for me. The Etro maxi dress seems so un-fergie as the singer usually opts for sexy and short dresses.

Photobucket

Another Gossip Girl actress, Jessica Szohr also opted for a bright dress. Szohr looks absolutely amazing in this bright coral Alice + Olivia halter dress. I can't get over how well the colour suits her. You can purchase her dress here.

Photobucket

Miley Cyrus replacement, Selma Gomez looked a bit disheveled on the red carpet in her bright blue Mint by Jodi Arnold strapless dress. You'll be glad to know that the young star usually irons her dresses for events like these as the dress is intentionally wrinkled.

ID that dress: Liv Tyler

I recently made a post of Liv Tyler attending the Piaget Hosts The Limelight Paris-New York Collection event in N.Y.C. Tyler opted for a stunning Oscar de la Renta oriental styled cocktail dress for the occasion, which she accessoried with Piaget jewels and black heels. The dress is available for purchase at Saks for $5990. If you want to try out this oriental style for a party or event with a lower budget, I've managed to find a dress online at www.edressme.com as shown below:

Dorothy's Ruby Slippers get a make over

Photobucket

One of my favorite movies of all time, The Wizard of Oz will be soon celebrated for its 70th anniversary in 2009. In honor of such a wonderful film, Warner Bros Consumer Products and Crystallized Swarovski Elements have asked some of the top accessory and ready-to-wear designers to design their contemporary vision of the iconic ruby slippers.

According to Fashion Week Daily, designers such as Alberta Ferretti, Betsey Johnson, Gwen Stefani, Christian Louboutin, Diane von Furstenberg, Giuseppe Zanotti, Jimmy Choo, Manolo Blahnik, Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier and Sergio Rossi will all be creating designs for the collection.

Unfortunately these shoes will not be for sale as they will be auctioned off for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation's Kids. Let's hope there are alot of bids!
